We bid you Welcome.
We do not ask what you believe, or
Expect you to think the way we do,
But only that you try to live a
Kindly, helpful life, with the dignity
Proper to a human being.
Welcome, all who believe that religion
Is wider than any sect and deeper
Than any set of opinions, and all
Who might find in all our friendship
Strength and encouragement for daily living.

About Us
The Unitarian Universalist Bed and Breakfast network was established in 1980 by Ann Thorpe as Homecomings. Charles and Margaret Walker purchased the business from her in 1991 and developed it in size and scope. They sold the business to us in June 2003, and we changed the name to UU're Home, a play on words that we think expresses our hope: that we will enable Unitarian Universalists and other religions liberals to find congenial homes away from home when they travel.
Over the years, members received an annual directory of listings by mail early in April. In 2004, we added an online listing with photographs. These listings are continually updated as new hosts are added, contact information is changed, or hosts are removed. Beginning in 2012, we decided to discontinue the paper directory, maintaining the website directory only.
We have tried to make the listings as user-friendly as possible. It is expected that hosts will be glad to provide information about attractions in their area, such as restaurants, historic sites, hiking trails, shopping, and directions to the nearest UU congregation, etc. Many UU hosts especially welcome guests regardless of their sexual orientation; their listing includes the word "Welcoming." Prices are listed as the costs for a single guest or for two (for example, $40/$50) unless otherwise stated. Be prepared to pay your host with cash or a check; few hosts accept credit cards.
We welcome your comments and suggestions on ways that UU're Home can be improved. As a result of several member suggestions, we added a notation of "Home Exchange" for those hosts who would consider exchanging homes with another member.
Please note that the information provided in the listings has been accepted at face value. The representations of the hosts have been recorded as accurately as possible, but UU're Home, Inc. cannot accept responsibility for the accuracy of the information provided or for any actions or behavior on the part of either hosts or their guests.
